Hundreds of people gathered Sunday at Albuquerque Police headquarters to rally in support of the embattled agency and its officers.

Hundreds of people gathered Sunday at Albuquerque Police headquarters to rally in support of the embattled agency and its officers.

The rally came on the heels of a number of demonstrations against the department, protesting the officer involved shooting of a homeless man in the city's northeast foothills.

Supporters KRQE News 13 spoke to say they were there to show APD they’re behind them, especially with the negative publicity the department’s been getting in recent weeks.

Some people at the rally acknowledge imperfections within the Albuquerque police but say people shouldn’t hold it against the department as a whole.
