Kansas City Investigators Announce Arrest in Highway Shooting Cases

A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with as many as 20 highway shootings in the Kansas City, Missouri, area, that began in early March, police said Thursday.

Kansas City Police Chief Darryl Forte announced yesterday that a lone male suspect has been taken into custody in connection with up to 20 highway shootings in the Kansas City, Mo., area.

Local and federal authorities, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, have been trying to find out who is behind nearly 20 shootings on major highways and roads throughout the city since they began on March 8.

CNN is reporting that the suspect has not yet been charged as investigators continue to develop the case and try to determine which of the cases are related.

The shootings began in early March, resulting in three injuries and no fatalities. The most recent incident was this past Wednesday, in which four people reported their minivan was shot at a stoplight in Kansas City.
