VIDEO: Police Shoot Man who Crashed Crime Scene

Spokane police shot and killed a man who they say drove through police barricades at the scene of a woman's murder and got out of his truck with what appeared to be a gun.

The incident occurred in front of news reporters who had gathered nearby hoping for information about the investigation, reports CBS News.

The man has been identified as Jeremy Arnold, a 37-year-old with a troubled background, reports the Spokesman-Review.

Arnold had returned to his home, driving through a barricade police had set up as they investigated the stabbing death of 46-year-old Tracy Fergerstrom. When he stopped the blue pickup truck and climbed out with a gun in his hand, officers opened fire.

Spokane police Chief Frank Straub said investigators had identified Arnold as a homicide suspect and were actively searching for him when he drove into the scene around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.
