2 Texas Officers Shot Serving Warrant

Two Killeen, Texas, police officers were shot Friday morning as Tactical Response officers and Bell County deputies served a search warrant at a Killeen residence.

Two Killeen, Texas, police officers were shot Friday morning as Tactical Response officers and Bell County deputies served a search warrant at a Killeen residence.

The officers were taken from the scene at Circle M Drive and Old FM 440 to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center initially and then transferred to Scott & White Hospital, in Temple, where one of the officers is in serious condition and the other is listed in good condition, Killeen spokeswoman Carroll Smith told KWTX TV.

At about 5:30 a.m. the Killeen police Tactical Response Unit and deputies from the Bell County Organized Crime Unit were serving a search warrant at 1104 Circle M Dr., when the shooting started.

Smith said as officers breached the door at apartment C, a man and a woman inside opened fire.

The man and the woman are in custody, Smith said.
