In an interview on his way to the television studio in Los Angeles for last night's live "Survivor" finale, smooth-talking Jersey City police officer Tony Vlachos said he would rather have fortune than fame.

Vlachos' wish came true. Wednesday night, the 40-year-old cop — who combined his Jersey brawn with his spot-on strategic moves and perseverance for 39 days in grueling conditions — earned the coveted title of Sole Survivor and, in the process, became a million dollars richer, NJ.com reports.
