An on-duty Border Patrol agent died and another was injured Wednesday morning after their vehicle rolled over on Interstate 10 in Arizona.

An on-duty Border Patrol agent died and another was injured Wednesday morning after their vehicle rolled over on Interstate 10 in Arizona, according to the United States Border Patrol, reports azcentral.com.

Both Wilcox Station agents were transported to University Medical Center in Tucson, but Agent Alexander Giannini, who was a five-year veteran of the Border Patrol, died before arriving at the hospital, CBP Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at 7:41 a.m. near Milepost 314.5, near Sybil Road east of Benson, Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia said.

The other agent's injuries are unknown, and the cause of the crash is under investigation, Kerlikowske said.

Giannini is survived by his parents, sister, and fiancée, according to ODMP.org.
