Texas Deputy Dies of Injuries from On-Duty Crash

Dep. Adam Davis, 36, of the Bell County (Texas) Sheriff's Department has succumbed to injuries sustained in an on-duty single-car crash last week.

Dep. Adam Davis, 36, of the Bell County (Texas) Sheriff's Department has succumbed to injuries sustained in an on-duty single-car crash last week, reports NBC affiliate KCEN.

The crash occurred Dec. 1, and Davis had been in critical condition with serious head trauma until he died this morning at Scott & White Hospital. He was responding to a report of a man with a gun when his patrol car left the roadway at a curve in the road and flipped end over end several times.

Davis had been a reserve deputy with the Bell County Sheriff's Department since 2007 and was hired full time in August, reports KWTX.

Dep. Davis is survived by his wife and 10-year-old son. Donations to assist his family can be made to the Extraco Bank benefit account established for Deputy Davis. The account is under the name of Normal Hubbard for the benefit of Adam Davis, account number 20438917.
