Texas Sgt. Killed In Crash with Dump Truck

Sgt. Jorge Luis Garcia, 51, was driving a red Ford Ranger toward the Pharr International Bridge for an operational meeting with other officers under his command, when he collided with a dump truck at the intersection of Cage Boulevard and Anaya Road.

A veteran Pharr (Texas) Police officer who touched the lives of many was killed earlier this month in a crash with a dump truck.

Sgt. Jorge Luis Garcia, 51, was driving a red Ford Ranger toward the Pharr International Bridge for an operational meeting with other officers under his command, when he collided with a dump truck at the intersection of Cage Boulevard and Anaya Road. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4:43 p.m.

San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez, who worked for 20 years in the Pharr department, was once under Garcia’s supervision and then later became Garcia's supervisor. He said Garcia was one of the most respected members of the agency, reports The Monitor.
