The Morehead City (N.C.) Police officer wounded in an accidental shooting at a training exercise has been taken off a respirator and his condition upgraded to fair, reports the Daily News.
Officer Garrett Hardin, 22, remains in fair condition Monday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. He was taken to the hospital following the Oct. 2 shooting.
During a training exercise, Officer Hardin was shot in the chest by Officer Marvin Willis III. He was not wearing his ballistic vest.
