Officer William Brancato was seriously hurt in January 2012. He was placed on light duty and has been in and out of the hospital due to problems with his pancreas. At times, he's been placed on a feeding tube.

Two supervisors recently delivered furlough paperwork to the officer to sign at his hospital bed, reports WTOP. A website has been set up to collect donations to help Officer Brancato. Funds will be given to the Concerns of Police Survivors.
