The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has begun engraving the names of 321 fallen law enforcement officers who will be honored as part of National Police Week next week.

The Memorial Fund, which oversees the national police memorial wall, began with the first and last officers killed during the 2012 calendar year. Park Ranger Margaret Anderson and Prince William County (Va.) Police Officer Chris Yung were the first to be added, according to the NLEOMF. The names were unveiled on April 30.

Following the unveiling ceremony, workers began engraving the names, including 120 officers who were killed in 2012 and 201 who were killed in earlier years and recently discovered.

With the exception of the officers killed on 9/11, all other officers' names are engraved in a random order to maximize space in each line of the wall. Their locations can be found in a guide at the front of the memorial.

The fallen officers will be honored at the annual candlelight vigil on Monday. There are now 19,981 officers honored on the memorial.
