Ronell Wilson, a 31-year-old New York City street gang member, shot Detectives Rodney Andrews and James Nemorin execution-style in 2003. Nemorin begged for his life before he was killed.

Wilson's sentence Wednesday came six years after his original death sentence, which was overturned due to faulty jury instructions. Wilson later fathered a child with a federal corrections officer while at a Brooklyn facility. Nancy Gonzalez lost her job earlier this year and pleaded guilty to improper sex.

It took the jury about five hours Wednesday o reach its decision to give Wilson the death penalty, reports the New York Daily News.
