Police arrested Sammie Eaglebear Chavez, 18, on Friday for allegedly planning to carry out a shooting and bombing attack at his high school. The arrest occurred only a few hours before the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in Connecticut.

Authorities allege the suspect attempted to recruit his classmates at Bartlesville High School to help him lure other students into the school auditorium where he would then shoot them after chaining the doors shut, reports the Associated Press. Chavez also planned on placing bombs at the doors that he would detonate when the police arrived. The affidavit claims he tried to obtain diagrams of the school.

A student told school officials about the alleged plot, who then reported the matter to authorities, reports Tulsa World. Police searched Chavez's home and uncovered a small-caliber rifle and notes about the attack, but no bomb-making materials.

On Monday, there was a significant police presence at the school.

Chavez is being held on $1 million bond.
