Ind. Cop Released From Hospital

The Fortville (Ind.) Police officer who was shot in the head after pulling over a driver with a busted tail light has left the hospital. Officer Matthew Fox was reealsed from IU Methodist Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Matthew Fox was reealsed from IU Methodist Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, reports the Indianapolis Star.

Officer Fox was shot after he pulled over James Lockhart III around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Lockhart initially stopped, then led Officer Fox on a short pursuit in a white Volvo. Lockart pulled over again, exited his white Volvo, and charged Officer Fox, firing a semi-automatic handgun. One bullet struck Officer Fox's chest and another ricocheted off the officer's hand and hit his forehead.
