NYPD Deploys Lithium-Powered Vehicles At 9/11 Memorial

The New York Police Department has deployed Vectrix VX-1 lithium-powered law enforcement vehicles at the 9/11 Memorial Site. The vehicles join NYPD's fleet of VX-1s already patrolling Manhattan.

The New York Police Department has deployed Vectrix VX-1 lithium-powered law enforcement vehicles at the 9/11 Memorial Site, according to the company.

The new Vectrix VX-1 Li bikes join the original NYPD fleet of Vectrix VX-1s that have been in service in Manhattan since 2007. The NYPD has also unveiled six clean energy Vectrix VX-2 50-cc equivalent scooters for parking enforcement patrols.

The clean energy Vectrix VX-1 Li/Li+ maxi-scooter was just named European "e-Scooter of the Year" for the second consecutive year, and the 50-cc equivalent electric Vectrix VX-2, was named European "e-Scooter of the Year" for 2011.

The Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Department, U.S. Capitol Police Department, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have deployed Vectrix electric bikes for patrols and enforcement.
