The Philadelphia Police lieutenant who was captured on cellphone video punching a parade-goer in the face will be fired, Commissioner Charles Ramsey said Wednesday.

Lt. Jonathan Josey, a 19-year veteran, was suspended with intent to dismiss by Ramsey. Philadelphia's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 president told the Philadelphia Inquirer he was "going to war" to overturn the firing.

Lt. Josey, 39, was seen punching Aida Guzman, 39, at Sunday's Puerto Rican Day Parade at Fifth Street and Lehigh Avenue. Guzman was charged with disorderly conduct because police believed she threw liquid at a group of officers. The charges have been dropped.
