Life University in Marietta, Ga., plans to eliminate its entire police force in favor of hiring a private security firm to monitor the campus, MyFoxAtlanta reports.

School officials will replace 10 full-time and four part-time positions with an unarmed security force that does not have the power to make an arrest. Dr. Brian McAulay, executive vice president and provost at the university, said that it is not necessary to have a full police force because of the campus' size.
