The wife of the Oceanside (Calif.) Police Department's chief said she fired two shots at officers with her husband's service weapon after barricading herself in her home and hoped an officer would shoot and kill her.

Brinda Sue McCoy, the wife of Chief Frank McCoy, is accused of multiple counts of assault with a firearm on a police officer, a felony that could draw a 62-year prison term, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The standoff ended when McCoy was shot with a beanbag round while standing at her front door.
