Teller County (Colo.) Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for a six-foot, 25-pound Nile Monitor lizard that's been on the loose since midday Monday.

The sheriff's office made reverse 911 calls to the apartment complex where the lizard escaped to warn residents to keep small dogs and cats within fenced-in areas, reports the Gazette.
