VIDEO: Melee After OIS In Calif.

Demonstrators filled the lobby of the Anaheim (Calif.) Police Department on Sunday, chanting and carrying anti-police signs to protest several officer-involved shootings.

The melee capped two days of protests and two officer-involved shootings involving suspects officers said were gang members.

In Saturday's incident, two officers chased Manuel Diaz, 25, and observed him throwing unidentified objects onto rooftops as he ran. Although just one of the two officers shot at Diaz, both were put on paid administrative leave, reports the Orange County Register.

The fatal shooting of Diaz, described by the department as a "known gang member," brought a melee at the crime scene that included men rolling flaming dumpsters into the middle of the street and officers firing less-lethal rounds into the crowd. A police K-9 dog escaped his handler and nearly bit an infant, reports KCAL.

On Sunday, a gang officer shot and killed a gunman who opened fire on them during a foot pursuit.
