A Voorhees Township (N.J.) Police officer has been suspended for using a law enforcement database to track down a woman on Facebook.

Officer Jeffrey Tyther, 44, was on duty in a marked police cruiser when he saw a woman drive past him. Tyther allegedly pulled up behind her, then pulled next to her and waved. Police say the woman never stopped her vehicle or spoke to Tyther, reports NBC10 Philadelphia.

Tyther then used the State Police NCIC motor vehicle database to pull the woman's information. He sent her a friend request via Facebook and a follow-up e-mail. She then reported the incident to police.
