A former Miami Police Department sergeant has been indicted by federal authorities, who claim the narcotics supervisor planted cocaine on a subject, stole drug money, and obstructed justice.

Sgt. Raul Iglesias, 40, was relieved of duty in May 2010, reports CBS News.

Iglesias appeared in court on Friday to answer charges in the federal indictment and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted, according to the Department of Justice.
