An former Frederick County (Md.) Sheriff's deputy is not liable for a suspect's death after being hit with a stun gun because his actions were reasonable and he defended himself and others, a federal jury found on Wednesday.

Retired Cpl. Rudy Torres did assault Jarrel Gray in 2007, the 10-member jury in Baltimore ruled after deliberating for a day. Cpl. Torres was shielded from liability, reports the Herald-Mail.
