When a radio call came in about State Police in pursuit of a stolen tractor-trailer Wednesday night, Col. Rick Fuentes, superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, who was in the area, responded.

And police said Fuentes, who joined the State Police in 1978 and became superintendent in 2003, was responsible for the apprehension of one of three Union City men charged with stealing the tractor-trailer in Linden.

In an example of leading by doing, police said Fuentes ran through Rosedale Cemetery in Linden to assist in the man's arrest, reports myCentralJersey.com.
