The man accused of ambushing an Athens-Clarke County (Ga.) Police officer said in court Wednesday that he "could have easily killed some more officers" on March 22.

Jamie Hood and his attorneys were in court arguing that he should be transferred from the Barrow County Detention Center because he believes he has been badly treated there and he needs to be closer to his Atlanta attorneys, reports the Athens Banner-Herald.

Hood is accused of murdering Senior Police Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian and attempting to murder SPO Tony Howard on March 22 as officers searched for Hood, who was wanted for an armed robbery-kidnapping earlier in the day.

Hood surrendered several days later at an apartment complex after taking eight hostages and demanding that television cameras be present.
