Asst. Oakland Police Chief Again Takes Over Agency

For the second time in three years, Assistant Chief Howard Jordan has been named interim chief of the Oakland Police Department.

For the second time in three years, Assistant Chief Howard Jordan has been named interim chief of the Oakland Police Department.

Jordan, a 23-year veteran of the department, took over as Oakland's top cop following the resignation of Chief Anthony Batts on Tuesday. In leaving the department, Batts said he was not given the resources to accomplish the job.
