VIDEO: Albuquerque Kicking Incident

The two Albuquerque (N.M.) Police officers involved in a kicking incident captured on video have been fired, reports the Albuquerque Journal.

Officers John Doyle and Robert Woolever were fired Wednesday, a day after the release of surveillance video from a parking garage that shows one officer kicking a suspect in the head while a second officer holds him on the ground.

In the video, Officer Doyle is seen kicking the man in the head several times, while Officer Woolever holds him down during the Feb. 13 incident.

The man on the ground is Nicholas Blume, an auto-theft suspect who had resisted arrest by the officers. In the video, Blume is taken to the ground, and Officer Woolever strikes him in the head with his baton. Then Doyle runs up and kicks Blume in the head repeatedly while Woolever holds Blume's hands behind his back. Blume appears to go limp about midway through the kicking.

The video was obtained by the Albuquerque Journal.
