The Miami Beach Police officer who plowed over two people during a sandy joyride was charged with drunk and reckless driving.

The Miami Beach Police officer who plowed over two people during a sandy joyride was charged with drunk and reckless driving.

Derick Kulian, who has been fired from the department, surrendered Tuesday and has already posted $30,000 bail.

"No one in the police department, or in law enforcement, can tolerate the concept of a drunken, on-duty police officer," Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle told the Miami Herald.
