Three cadets with the Santa Clara County (Calif.) Sheriff's Office will be honored soon for helping out at a traffic collision on Friday between an Acura and a big rig tomato truck near Dinosaur Point off Highway 152.

The cadets and their supervisor flipped on the patrol car's lights and sirens, jumped out onto the highway to slow down traffic, and held the truck driver's head for nearly half an hour until help came.

Michael Marvin, a 17-year-old at Westmont High School; Connor Behrendt, a 17-year-old at Bellarmine College Preparatory; Kurt Han, an 18-year-old student at San Jose State University; along with the guidance of Dep. Gerardo Quintana, were able to secure the scene until the drivers could be removed from their vehicles and taken for medical care.
