A Colorado police officer has been charged with driving his cruiser under the influence while a second allegedly threw beer cans out of the passenger-side window while the two were heading to South Dakota to attend the memorial service of a fallen officer.

Aurora (Colo.) Police officers Bradley Bickett and Gerald Kirby were pulled over Wednesday evening near Torrington, Wyo., by Goshen County Sheriff's Capt. Bryan Morehouse.

A police car was allegedly speeding with its emergency lights flashing to clear traffic and trash was being thrown from the cruiser's window. Morehouse pulled the police car over and found beer in a cooler. Officer Bickett failed a sobriety test and registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.07. He was charged with driving while impaired and for speeding, going 57 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The officers were heading the the memorial service of Rapid City (S.D.) PD's Officer Nick Armstrong.
