Family of Shot Wyo. Suspect: 'They Were Meaning To Kill Him'

Cheyenne (Wyo.) Police officers fatally shot a 21-year-old man who led them on a pursuit after they attempted to pull him over for erratic driving.

The state's Division of Criminal Investigation is reviewing the shooting of Matthew Carbajal, who was critically wounded and is now being treated at a Denver hospital.

Carbajal's family is claiming the shooting was unjustified. Debra Martinez, his aunt, told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that officers "could have pulled him out and Tased him. They were meaning to kill him."

The officer involved, who has not been named, was placed on routine administrative leave while the investigation is completed.
