The man who fatally shot Georgetown (Del.) Police Officer Chad Spicer has received the death penalty.
Sussex County Superior Court Judge T. Henley Graves sentenced Derrick Powell to death for the September 2009 killing on Friday.
"Justice was done today," according to a statement from Attorney General Beau Biden. "Throughout this entire case, the Spicer family displayed exceptional courage and their courage is a reflection of Chad's courage."
