Texas Deputy Ambushed at Traffic Light

Sgt. Kenneth Vann, 48, was killed without warning at about 2:12 a.m. as he sat in his cruiser at a red light on the East Side of San Antonio. Vann was a patrol supervisor and 24-year member of the force.

A Bexar County (Texas) Sheriff's deputy was killed in a hail of semi-automatic gunfire early Saturday while he sat in his marked unit at a traffic light.

Sgt. Kenneth Vann, 48, was killed without warning at about 2:12 a.m. as he sat in his cruiser at a red light at Rigsby Avenue and SE Loop 410 on the East Side of San Antonio. Vann was a patrol supervisor and 24-year member of the force.
