Prosecution Rests in Trial of Accused Dallas Cop Killer

The last witness called by prosecutors, Dr. Reade Quinton, who performed the autopsy on Sr. Cpl. Norm Smith, testified that the bullet wound to his left eye “was almost immediately a fatal shot.”

Prosecutors have rested their case in the capital murder trial of a man accused of killing a Dallas police officer.

The defense will next begin presenting its case.

The last witness called by prosecutors, Dr. Reade Quinton, who performed the autopsy on Sr. Cpl. Norm Smith, testified that the bullet wound to his left eye “was almost immediately a fatal shot.”

Quinton said Smith would not have survived even if he's been shot inside an emergency room.
