San Diego Cop To Stand Trial for Improper Conduct with Five Women

Officer Anthony Arevalos, 40, allegedly promised to let the women go if they complied with him. Arevalos faces 21 felony charges including sexual battery by restraint, asking for a bribe, assault and battery by an officer and false imprisonment.

A judge ordered a San Diego (Calif.) Police officer to stand trial, after hearing evidence from five unnamed women who testified the officer elicited sexual favors from them during traffic stops.

Officer Anthony Arevalos, 40, allegedly promised to let the women go if they complied with him. Arevalos faces 21 felony charges including sexual battery by restraint, asking for a bribe, assault and battery by an officer and false imprisonment. The charges involve seven alleged victims on separate incidents between September 2009 and last March.
