Baltimore Cop Struck by Cruiser, Falls from Expressway

A Baltimore Police officer is in critical condition, after she was struck by her cruiser, knocked off the Jones Falls Expressway, and fell 30 feet. She remained in critical condition Thursday, two days after the fall.

A Baltimore Police officer is in critical condition, after she was struck by her cruiser, knocked off the Jones Falls Expressway, and fell 30 feet. She remained in critical condition Thursday, two days after the fall.

Officer Teresa Rigby, 27, patrols the northern district and has been with the force for more than three years. The officer underwent an initial surgery to repair a fractured leg and pelvis. She had a second proceedure for facial reconstruction.

Officer Rigby was standing on the I-83 expressway waiting for a disabled Saab to be towed on Tuesday morning, when a vehicle struck the officer's cruiser, which in turn struck the officer, who was then knocked off the expressway bridge.
