Texas Officer Critically Wounded Answering "Shots Fired" Call

Snyder police officer Darrell Campbell was shot by an unidentified gunman at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the Snyder Police Department.

 A police officer was shot in the head, and the gunman was then killed by another officer during an overnight shootout in Snyder, Texas.

Campbell and Officer Lee Ortiz responded to a "shots fired" call after midnight early Tuesday in the 700 block of 26th Street in Snyder. The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.
