Detroit Police Bring Back Precincts

The move "enhances our community policing efforts, data-driven approach toward deployment, and maintains our trajectory toward consent-decree compliance by the end of this calendar year," according to a statement released by Police Chief Ralph Godbee.

As part of a reorganization, the Detroit Police Department is realigning its command structure and bringing back precincts that were consolidated in 2005, reports the Detroit News.
