The U.S. and Mexican governments are offering up to $5 million dollars and up to 10 million pesos for information about the shooting of two immigration enforcement agents in Mexico.

The Departments of State, Justice, and Homeland Security are jointly offering the reward for leads that result in arrests and/or convictions of those responsible for the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Jaime Zapata and the attempted murder of Zapata's partner Special Agent Victor Avila, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The men were ambushed while driving from San Luis Potosi to Mexico City on Feb. 15. Zapata was killed, and Avila is recovering from the shooting. Mexican officials arrested six Los Zetas Cartel members in the case but the investigation is ongoing. The cartel operaters used a Romarm-Cugir Draco 7.62x39mm AK variant of Romanian origin in the shooting.
