Officer Struck With Flagpole During Gas Station Brawl

As the officer took the report, an SUV pulled up and four men jumped out. The officer instructed the men not to enter the mini-mart, after which they began assaulting a worker who was pumping gas. One of the men struck the officer with a flagpole (American flag attached).

A father, two sons and fourth man have been arrested for assaulting a clerk at a Long Island gas station and beating a police officer taking a report of an earlier assault with a flagpole, reports the Wall Street Journal.

At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a Nassau County (N.Y.) Police officer was interviewing the clerk who reported he was assaulted after refusing to sell cigarettes to teenagers.
