Lund Introduces PASS Bumper System

PASS solves speaker-mounting issues on new vehicles because the speaker is no longer mounted behind the bumper or fascia. Multiple sirens or tones can be used independently, if the vehicle has dual speakers.

Lund Industries has introduced PASS (Police Audio Visual Safety System), a front bumper that encloses the siren speakers of a patrol vehicle into the bumper's upright.

As a result, sound is greatly improved on the ground plane in front of the vehicle, according to Lund.

With PASS, speakers are mounting issues on new vehicles because the speaker is no longer mounted behind the bumper or fascia. Multiple sirens or tones can be used independently, if the vehicle has dual speakers.

Also, multiple lighting options for front and side LEDs are available with an optional wiring harness to ease installation.

The system, which was introduced at IACP 2010, is now available for Ford's Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, the Chevrolet Impala and the Dodge Charger. It's also available for the Ford Expedition, Ford Explorer and Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicles.
