Police Apprehend Suspect Who Sparked Baltimore Nightclub Gunbattle

Franklin James Gross, 30, is charged with attempted murder of a police officer and six other charges stemming from the incident.

A suspect who sparked a running gunbattle originating outside of a Baltimore nightclub has been taken into custody, police announced.

Franklin James Gross, 30, is charged with shooting a police officer, attempted murder and other charges stemming from the incident, reports the Baltimore Sun.

Todd A. Strohman, a one-year veteran of the force, approached Gross early Saturday suspecting he was armed. Gross allegedly opened fire on the officer, striking him above his ballistic vest in the clavicle.
