Police: Gang-Affiliated Teen Murdered Chicago SWAT Officer To Steal Guns

Bernard Williams, 18, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery in connection with the death of a decorated Chicago Police Department SWAT officer, who was found dead in his vehicle in late November.

Williams, who is affiliated with the Gangster Disciples, is the brother of a 25-year-old woman Officer David Blake was dating at the time. Police say Williams lured the officer to a dirt alleyway to apparently talk about moving in with him, reports MyFoxChicago.

Police say Williams' motive was to steal the officer's gun collection. Because there were no strong witnesses to the crime, detectives sifted through thousands of phone records and computer files.
