Wheelchair-Riding Vandal Shot After Stabbing SF Cop

Officers who responded to a report of a man vandalizing city vehicles in front of the San Francisco Behavioral Health Services building stabbed one of the officers, the man was shot with a less-lethal beanbag round, and then a handgun when he didn't surrender.

A wheelchair-riding man who was seen slashing car tires and moving around out of the chair stabbed a San Francisco Police officer in the city's South of Market District this morning.

Officers responded to a report of a man vandalizing city vehicles in front of the San Francisco Behavioral Health Services building at about 10:15 a.m., reports SFGate.com.

After stabbing one of the officers, the man was shot with a less-lethal beanbag round. Officers then used deadly force when he refused to surrender.
