FBI Arrests Border Patrol Agent for Harboring Illegals

Border Patrol Agent Marcos Gerardo Manzano, Jr., 26, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Monday at the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station as a result of an investigation by the Border Corruption Task Force.

A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been arrested during an FBI border corruption investigation in San Diego, Calif., that also involved a second arrest when the FBI's SWAT unit raided a nearby home.

Border Patrol Agent Marcos Gerardo Manzano, Jr., 26, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Monday at the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station as a result of an investigation by the Border Corruption Task Force. On Tuesday, Mexican national Jose Alfredo Garrido-Morena, also 26, was arrested during an FBI SWAT raid of a San Diego home.

Manzano Jr. has been charged with harboring illegal aliens and making a false statement. Garrido-Morena was arrested Tuesday shortly after 6 a.m. at a home in the 3600 block of Shooting Star Drive in San Diego, California, after the SWAT team made entry into the residence occupied by Garrido-Morena and others. Garrido-Morena is a deported alien.

Marcos Gerardo Manzano, Jr. and his father, Marcos Gerardo Manzano, Sr., are charged with the violations of federal immigration laws and making a false statement.

The Border Corruption Task Force is currently seeking the whereabouts of Manzano, Sr., and asking anyone with information to contact the FBI at (858) 565-1255.
