Tips from the public led police to a Camden apartment earlier this morning, where they arrested the Bloods gang member accused of fatally shooting Lakewood (N.J.) Police Officer Christopher Matlosz on Friday, an Ocean City prosecutor said at a press conference announcing the arrest.
A 15-member multi-agency task force of New Jersey State Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Jahmell Crockam, 19, at about 6:30 a.m. this morning, reports The Star-Ledger.
At the time he fatally shot Officer Matlosz in the face after the officer stopped to talk with him, Crockam had an arrest warrant for illegal possession of a rifle and hollow-point bullets. It isn't known whether the officer knew about the warrant.
