A Fayette County (Ga.) Sheriff's Office K-9 has died from heat exhaustion.

The dog, Aaros, and his handler were chasing burglary suspects in a wooded area Tuesday afternoon. Aaros collapsed and lost consciousness. He died on the way to the vet's office.

Aaros was only 5 years old and joined the Fayette County Sheriff's team in 2008. He was the office's first Full Service Law Enforcement Canine.

The four burglary suspects he and his handler were chasing have been arrested. They could face charges related to Aaros' death.
