Bushmaster Introduces .308 Carbine With Optic Mounts

Two half-inch riser blocks are mounted to the receiver-length Picatinny rail and provide enough clearance above the upper receiver, so the natural cheek weld aligns the shooter's eye directly behind his or her chosen optic.

Bushmaster has added a .308-chambered carbine to its growing line of AR-style rifles. The rifle offers law enforcement agencies additional firepower and longer-range capabilities, according to the company.

The rifle is an ORC (Optics Ready Carbine), in Bushmaster vernacular, because it arrives with two half-inch riser blocks for mounting of aftermarket optics. The riser blocks are mounted to the receiver-length Picatinny rail and provide enough clearance above the upper receiver, so the natural cheek weld aligns the shooter's eye directly behind his or her chosen optic.

This mid-range carbine comes equipped with a mid-length gas system and a milled gas block, mounted to a 16-inch 4150 Chrom-Moly Vanadium chrome-lined barrel and chamber. This is capped with an A2 style birdcage flash hider. The hand guards are heat shielded and a six-position telescoping stock provides up to four inches of adjustment for the length of pull.

The Bushmaster .308 ORC is shipped with a lockable hard case, operator's safety manual, yellow safety block and black web sling.
