Michigan Fire and Police Agencies Integrate Operations with New World Systems Software

New World Systems announced that it has been chosen by the Sterling Heights (Mich.) Police Department to upgrade the city's police and fire operations' public safety software.

The Sterling Heights (Mich.) Police Department upgraded its current public safety system with New World Systems' software to provide more integration between the city's police and fire operations.

"Fully implemented, New World's solutions will give our police and fire personnel state-of-the-art tools to protect the residents of Sterling Heights," Assistant City Manager Michael Bartholomew says. The two departments will be able to utilize the same public safety software system, improve communication, and increase access to information.

The new system includes Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) with embedded GIS mapping and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Fire and Law Enforcement Records Management, mobile computing, and customized Field-Based Reporting software for both departments.

New World's software is developed in-house using Microsoft technology, Windows Server and SQL Server. The built-in electronic workflow and familiar Windows environment simplifies navigation and saves time for Sterling Heights first responders.

The police department can also configure the systems to meet their needs and maintain the systems on their own with the help of the company's service and support teams, says Capt. Tom Fett. "From easing system maintenance to improving communication and how we manage our resources, New World's software will make us much more efficient."
