A judge sentenced Providence (R.I.) Police officer Marcus Huffman to serve 40 years in prison for raping an intoxicated, 19-year-old woman in the bathroom of a South Providence substation, reports the Providence Journal.

Marcus Huffman, who was convicted of the 2007 crime in April, had returned to duty after the crime and responded as the lead investigator on the case.

Judge Nancy Vogel listened to Huffman read a tearful apology and said his "greatest regret was getting caught."
